Those 3 games used sound samples as drums. They are compressed as headerless 4-bit DPCM file. Sonic 3D actually used 30 of Sonic 3 samples and added 2 more. I also used the game original pitches stored in the cartridge. So, if there was one Tom samples, but you'll have 4 different sounds from it (with adjusted sample rate).
These are the sounds:
30 from Sonic 3 & K & 3D,
37 from Sonic 3 & Knuckles,
2 from Sonic 3 only,
2 from Sonic 3D only.

ReplyDeleteIf you are using a DAW like FL studio, you can use vopm plugin and opm files of the games you want to rip instruments from.
